Just three days into the new year,
he won his second career title with
victory at the Australian Hardcourt
Championships in Adelaide.
After reaching the last 16 at the Australian
Open, the big-serving Swede had more
hard-court success in Marseille, outgunning
Croat Ivan Ljubicic in the Open 13 final.
Johansson, who goes by the nickname
Pim-Pim, enjoys fast surfaces and will
be hoping to improve his record at Wimbledon.
His only appearance at SW19 was last
year when he lost to German Florian
Mayer in the fourth round.
However, his best Grand Slam performance
came a few months later when he reached
the semi-finals of the US Open.
Johansson's huge serving outgunned even
defending champion Andy Roddick before
he lost to Lleyton Hewitt, and if the
Swede finds his rhythm he will be hard
to stop on grass.
