The Aussie's determination has never
been in doubt and after three years
without a Grand Slam win he is optimistic
of ending that run at Wimbledon.
Hewitt has done exceptionally well
to his establish his counter-punching,
baseline style as a major force on grass
in recent years.
This season has been interrupted by
injury but over the last 12 months he
has cemented his position as the leading
threat to Roger Federer's reign as world
number one.
In fact, before the recent arrival
of Rafael Nadal on the scene, Hewitt
was looking increasingly like the only
leading player determined to take on
Federer.
But it has not done him much good so
far, with seven consecutive defeats
to the Swiss, who remains a huge obstacle
to Hewitt regaining the Wimbledon crown.
